Water, the lifeblood of our planet, is of paramount importance to India's growth, development, and environmental sustainability. Water's significance arises from its role in sustaining life, fostering. Agriculture, driving industry, and preserving ecosystems. Its unparalleled importance for human health as a source of clean drinking water is evident, helping to reduce waterborne diseases and improve overall well-being. Moreover, water plays a pivotal role in regulating climate and supporting biodiversity.
 
Jal Utsav proved to be more than a festival, it was a movement of celebrating and inspiring people on the importance of water and its conservation, The event was a call to action to protect our vital water resources which was unique convergence of celebration, education, and environmental stewardship.

 

Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged everyone’s collective efforts for Jal Utsav and Water Conservation during the 26th November edition of Mann Ki Baat.

His heartfelt message during the 107th Episode of Mann Ki Baat reaffirms the importance of Water, how it can and has brought everyone together for India's first-of-its-kind Jal Utsav. Dholakia Foundation Founder Savji Bhai Dholakia, in return, expressed deepest gratitude and respect to Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only for his motivating public messages, but also for inspiring everyone to do good for the planet and humanity.

Mann Ki Baat (Hindi: मन की बात, transl. Talking from the heart) is an Indian radio programme broadcasted every last Sunday of the month, since 2014, hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he addresses the people of the nation on all India radio, DD National, and DD News. The main purpose of the program is to "establish a dialogue with the citizens on issues of day-to-day governance" and considered is as India's "first visually enriched radio program".

 
 

India’s first-of-its-kind Jal Utsav, co-organized by the Government of Gujarat and Dholakia Foundation, was successfully culminated on the 25th of November with the esteemed presence of Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey, India’s Minister for Environment. The Grand Finale ceremony held at Het Ni Haveli, Amreli District, was a grand spectacle celebrating the importance of water, life, and sustainability, bringing together a total of over 125,000 diverse audiences from different cities and villages including Amreli, Rajkot and other neighbouring villages.

Dholakia Foundation hosted a significant roundtable discussion on achieving a Water Secure India, which brought together diverse voices from various sectors to collaboratively address the pressing issue of water security in the nation.

The session's objective is to formulate effective strategies aimed at ensuring a water-secure future for India. Stakeholders from varied backgrounds engaged in constructive dialogues, centering discussions around four pivotal themes: finance, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and policy. This discussion underscored the significance of holistic planning and collective action in addressing the intricate challenges of water security and water management in the country.
